Idyllic mountain village or alpine metropolis? The twin communities of Crans and Montana embody both, and combine the conveniences of a modern holiday resort with abundant nature and a five-star panorama taking in the finest 4,000 m peaks: the Matterhorn, Mont-Blanc, Weisshorn and Dent-Blanche. The ski area includes the high plateau all the way up to the Plaine Morte glacier at 3,000 m. Above the tree line the pistes are wide and open, with beginner runs as well as deep-powder descents. Especially popular are the carving pistes, and the famous valley run down from Plaine Morte: at 12 km, the longest in the region.
